slow & steady

Okay, picture this - it's a gorgeous Tuesday (yes, I'm talking about yesterday). I had a great day, no dramatic downfalls and the dog finally stopped getting sick. I went to girl's night with some happening folks and had a marvelous time. So at this point you can tell, I just had a great day. I made my way back to my house to sat on my favorite side of the couch. There I sat perusing Facebook and BAM it happens. {insert suspense music}

There, splattered all over my newsfeed, was the fate of my up-and-coming new favorite TV show, SOA. I know what you're thinking, "Well, why didn't you watch it? That's your fault." It, my good people, is not my fault. Every spare minute of my day is spent watching streaming episodes of SOA (when Beibs' schedule complies). I get so entrapped in every single episode that I forget to blink and my contacts dry up in my eyes. Painful? Yes, but worth it. I now have to make sure to put on my handy-dandy glasses before the screening process.  Even with my dedication, I am only now reaching the end of Season 3.

So people, I beg you - quit being a dreamcrusher! I know that at the time you put your Facebook status up in haste, hoping to be the first person to plaster it all over every social media outlet, that you just lost control and simply didn't mean to ruin the lives of everyone around you (possibly, maybe slightly over-dramatic). I, too, wish that I had some special TV that allowed me to view shows before everyone else, but this is now and that technology is not available. Remember the story of the Tortoise and the Hare? Slow and steady wins the race. Let's play nice.

enlighten me

Okay so you know how Taylor Swift thinks that she is surrounded by the number 13 (and if you didn't, you're welcome, now you do)? Well, that is exactly how I feel, except about different things. And it may not be that I am haunted by these things, but they are definitely reoccurring words that are borderline becoming stalkerish. Every time I turn around I swear someone is talking about them.

Wanderlust. First thought, Alice and Wonderland mixed with Candyland and a dash of Katy Perry's wardrobe. Straight psych ward. After googling the word, I now know that it means strong desire to travel as well as a one-of-a-kind festival bringing together the world's leading yoga teachers, top musical acts and DJs, renowned speakers, top chefs and winemakers, and much, much more -- all in a setting of breathtaking natural beauty. Sounds a lot like Narnia.

Brunch. What exactly is a "brunch"? It's not lunch. It's not breakfast. It's not Taco Bell. It must be a lazy guy's way to not miss out on breakfast when you realize it is lunch time. Which is why I'm baffled by this because that never happens to me. If I wake up at 10am you best believe that I will be eating breakfast before I leave the house to go eat lunch at 11. I will for no reason miss a meal. No way, no how. Oh, how I love food.

Macaroons. They are everywhere. All over Food Network, Instagram, blogs, you name it. It extremely saddens to say that I have never tasted one. I've had several dreams that I ate one and woke up extremely saddened to know that it was indeed just a dream. In my head, I imagine them to taste a lot like if an Oreo and Creamsicle got married and had a baby. Heaven in a bite. Don't worry, I'm on a quest and I definitely see macaroons in my near future. And if you have some at your house and you want me to come over and eat them for you, I'm okay with that, too.
