egging it

70 days. That is how many days it took the Big Green Egg to make its appearance sans the box. I should have documented the day that I told Joseph I was getting him an Egg for Christmas. I know, you're thinking that I should have surprised him with it. Well, I thought about that. After weighting my options (literally), I figured it was impossible. I couldn't cram the box in my backseat nor would it even fit back there. There was never any chance of me being able to even move the box alone. So, I decided I would have to settle for the delight of his "I'm getting a Big Green Egg" face. It was definitely worth it.

She went from this,
To this, (in a matter of several hours it took to reassemble her new bed (none of which I assisted in))

Everything went according to plan including Joseph failing to read the instruction manual for the new digital thermometer. Despite the mid-cooking panic of having broiled-to-death steaks, we succeeded! Dinner is served (still mooing, just the way I like it).

And special thanks to Todd Smith for making our egg bed!
